Open Access Publishing Options at KAUST: Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)

During 2022–2024, research and review articles accepted by below listed RSC journals where a KAUST affiliated author is the corresponding author, the article can be published Open Access. Please follow these steps.

• While submitting articles, corresponding authors must use the KAUST work email (domain kaust.edu.sa) to be identified by RSC.
• After the article acceptance, authors will get notification about the OA option. If they choose the OA option, their article will be published OA in RSC journals.
• Authors can opt out and decide not to provide Open Access to their article if they wish to do so.
• In both cases, KAUST authors will not be subject to any additional costs like Article Processing Charges (APC).

Important:

This agreement will only support KAUST authors to make their published article Open Access, without any extra payment or administrative process. Author(s) are still responsible for all publishing-related activities, including preparing the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process with the publisher, reviewers, or co-authors, as usual.
