Information on who is eligible to use print and electronic library resources, including instructions on KAUST ID cards for community members and visitors, fees and charges, and library card expiration dates.
University Library serves the University's current faculty, students, staff, researchers and campus residents who hold a valid KAUST ID.
At the University Library, your KAUST ID card is also your library card. Anyone who holds a valid KAUST ID card may use the library.
Once you arrive at the KAUST campus, the first thing you need to do is get your KAUST ID. Once you receive your KAUST ID card, you automatically have your library card.
Your library account expires on the same day that your KAUST ID expires. If you have recently renewed your ID, make sure you ask a staff member at the Information Desk to confirm that your account information is up to date.
Currently, all regular library services are free; however, copy center services and the textbook purchase will incur charges, as indicated in the Copy Center's Price List. Textbook fees can be given upon request.
Fines will be incurred on recalled books. For lost books, patrons will be charged a replacement fee that includes the full value of the missing book. If you have overdue books, please speak to a staff member at the Information Desk about ways to clear your fines or fees.
Official visitors to KAUST may arrange for temporary borrowing privileges by contacting library@kaust.edu.sa.
