What is Document Delivery?

The University Library Document Delivery Services provides a document retrieval and delivery service, enabling you to obtain chapters of books and papers that are not available in the library’s collection.

Who can use Document Delivery Services?

All KAUST faculty, researchers, post-docs, students, and staff are eligible to use this service.

How do I place an order?

You can email your request, including a full citation, to ILLDD@kaust.edu.sa.

Who pays the fees for my delivery?

KAUST pays the copyright and delivery fees for you. Please note that document delivery is expensive; kindly ensure you pick up all papers you order.

How can I know if my request has been ordered?

The library staff will send you an email when your request has been received. We will provide you with an order number for future reference.

How long does it take to get an item?

In most cases, it takes less than two days. If delivery is delayed, the document delivery coordinator will notify you.

How can I check the status of my request?

To check the status, send us your order number, and we will give you an update.

How will I receive the material that I have requested?

Where possible, a PDF file will be emailed to you. Please note that most files are sent to us secure/encrypted; it is not possible for us to send you secure/encrypted files. We will print the article for you, and printed articles can be picked up at Infodesk from 8-12 and 1-5. You will be notified by the document delivery coordinator when your printed document is ready to be picked up.
