Creation of your ePoster
Twenty-three BenQ 65-inch 4K touchscreen ePoster displays are available. A customized configuration allows for the simultaneous display of two posters per touchscreen, therefore up to 46 posters can be viewed at a time.
it is recommended to design the ePoster in Landscape format, size below:
LANDSCAPE: 140cm width x 73cm height (width: 55.0in x height: 28.5in).
Below are instructions written for PowerPoint but are applicable to any other software you may wish to use. Use PowerPoint 2007 or newer, and set the dimensions of your poster to:
- The number of pages (slides): ONE.
- Make sure your text and background have a large contrast (dark lettering on a light background or the reverse)
- The monitors are high definition, and therefore the letters on-screen look nice and smooth. It’s generally advised, though, that for electronic posters to be read on-screen, a minimum 24-28 point size (or bigger) for body text fonts is used to ensure optimal legibility from the usual distance of 3-5 ft. A little larger text (e.g., up to 32 pt size) might also be a good idea as it will provide a comfortable reading from an even larger distance, such as up to 8 ft.
- For embedded images, prefer .jpeg or .png file formats in a resolution of 72 or 96 dpi.
- Do not use animated effects, “animations,” and animated videos
- Before submitting, save your poster as a PDF file. All recent versions of PowerPoint and most other software applications allow you to save your poster as a PDF file from the "File > Save as" menu or through the "File > Print > as .PDF."
- SIZE:The maximum allowed file size of 5MB
ePoster Submission
Abstract submission
The submission URL will be shared with you by the event organizer, you will be asked to submit an abstract with the ePoster title and author information.
File submission
Following, you will receive an email to upload your ePoster. Depending on the file-size of your ePoster and your Internet connection, the submission process may take from seconds to minutes.
File Update
In case you want to upload updated version of the ePoster, in the confirmation email you receive will include instructions to upload new version of your poster.
Copyright and Availability
You will be asked to grant to KAUST a non-exclusive license to archive your poster and to make it accessible online, under one of the availability options below:
- Hold the work for one year then release it for worldwide access on the Internet. (This option should be selected if you need to secure the work temporarily).
- No access (dark archive). The poster will be preserved for archival and administrative purposes only and neither the poster nor its metadata (title, authors, abstract, etc.) will be publicly visible on the Internet.
