Zotero is CSL-based (Citation Style Language-based) software (more about CSL here.
In Zotero, you can install styles directly from within the desktop client
The easiest way to cite and create a bibliography is to use word processor plugins (available for Microsoft Word, LibreOffice and Google docs). To install the plugins go here.
When you install the Zotero tab in your word processor it will have 5 icons:
add/edit citation
add/edit bibliography
document preferences
refresh
unlink citations
Use add/edit citation button from the Zotero tab to insert new citations or edit existing ones. When you press the button it will open the list of the matching items from your Zotero library.
Insert a bibliography at the cursor location or edit an existing bibliography.
