Q: Can I publish a description of the invention before it is patented?
A: The patent application should be filed first. Otherwise your publication will be a reason to reject the patent. After the application is filed, you are free to publish.
Q: Who at KAUST should I contact if I believe my invention is patentable?
Contact the Technology Transfer Office at Economic Development for further information about funding, guidelines and policies.
Q: What is a "patent family"?
This is a group of patent documents from various countries that protect a single invention.
