SciFinder is the most comprehensive database for coverage of chemistry & chemical engineering. It has the world's largest collection of organic and inorganic substance information. The web version of SciFinder provides integrated access to CAPlus, CAS Registry, CASREACT, CHEMLIST, and CHEMCATS which are produced by Chemical Abstracts Service, and to MEDLINE which is produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine. Sources covered in SciFinder include 10,000 journals, patents from 61 patent authorities, book chapters, conference proceedings, dissertations, evaluated reference works, technical reports, as well as book reviews and biographical information.

The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) contains database of genetic and molecular biology data for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana, which includes the complete genome sequence along with gene structure, gene product information, gene expression, DNA and seed stocks, genome maps, genetic and physical markers, publications, etc.
Provides full-image access to the publications of both the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) includes all journals, magazines, standards and conference proceedings published since 1988.

Core Bioscience Databases
Bioscience is an interdisciplinary field, so it can be difficult to find one database or research tool that covers every subject area. The most interdisciplinary databases below are Web of Science and Scopus. However, many researchers will prefer to search in a Chemistry-specific database like SciFinder-n (or Reaxys), or do more of a medical-related search in PubMed. BIOSIS is an excellent subject database for all of the biology disciplines. If you are needing a more specialized sub-field resources, see the list the left side of the page or ask your BESE librarian for assistance.

Coverage includes Traditional life science fields of Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, as well as Interdisciplinary and Emerging Fields like Nanotechnology, Biotechnology Biodiversity. Significant portion of content found in BIOSIS is not indexed in other life science database.
PubMed is the web-based retrieval system (search engine) developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) for accessing the MEDLINE database. It covers the fields of biomedicine and health, life sciences, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering.
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and web sources from Elsevier with tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Content coverage includes scientific, technical, medical and social sciences literature.
Web of Science is an online scientific citation database which allows researchers to search authoritative, multidisciplinary journal coverage across multiple disciplines dating back to 1900.
