University Library partial reopening
Effective July 5, 2020, the University Library partially reopened. Access to the Library is limited to KAUST graduate students, post-docs, and faculty members from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday to Thursday. The Library remains closed at all other times including on weekends and public holidays. All other KAUST community members, including TKS students, are not allowed to access the Library during this phase.
Visitors need to register their preferred seats for study by providing their KAUST email address and ID and need to check-in at the entrance through the face recognition kiosk. A confirmed seat registration is mandatory and no walk-in is allowed to access the Library. The entrance to the Library is controlled via Level 2 from the Campus Spine, and access via Level 0 is closed.
During this phase, 88 seats are provided for quiet study. Group discussions, meetings, and gatherings are not allowed. The meeting rooms, group study rooms, and social locations remain closed. Please wear a face mask at all times, keep physical distancing of 2 meters, maintain silence, and strictly follow the Keep KAUST Safe guidelines.
Print books can be collected, please request them via the Library catalog using the hold function. Books can be returned during the opening hours.
We gladly observe an increased usage of the library’s online collection (which represents 99% of the total collection), online training, and other digital services during the lockdown and encourage everyone to continue to use them from the Library website.
1. The print and stationery store is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and accessible from Level 0 through the Diner side.
2. The library café is also open. Customers can walk-in via Level 2 entry for taking away orders only. No seating or gathering is permitted.
Please follow the Keep KAUST Safe guidelines. Stay safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
