The KAUST Library signed a new read and publish agreement with the Inter-Research Science Publisher.
ELIGIBLE AUTHORS
KAUST must be the primary affiliation of the corresponding author, and the author must use their KAUST email address (domain: kaust.edu.sa). The article submission under the KAUST OA publication agreement must be pre-approved by KAUST.
ARTICLE ELIGIBILITY
Includes primary research articles, notes, and review articles only.
The primary affiliation of the corresponding author must be KAUST, and the author must be authorized by KAUST to submit the article under the Agreement.
Articles with a KAUST author as a secondary author (i.e. non-corresponding) may be subsequently deemed eligible under the Agreement where the non-KAUST corresponding author of that article has not otherwise secured open access publication funding.
WORKFLOW FOR AUTHORS
For the eligible journals, to activate the KAUST OA publication agreement for your article, please include the following text in your cover letter: ***If accepted, I wish for my submission to be published with Open Access under the KAUST agreement with Inter-Research***.
If submitting an article to Aquatic Biology, Aquaculture Environment Interactions, or Endangered Species Research, during the submission process, you must click the box agreeing to pay the APC. If the KAUST agreement is activated and the article is accepted for publication, you will not be charged the APC (unless the agreement limit has been reached), but the box must be clicked for the system to process the submission.
If you do not wish to activate the KAUST OA publication agreement when submitting to any of the seven eligible journals, omit the above text from the cover letter.
ELIGIBLE JOURNALS
'Hybrid' journals (Subscriber access with the optional purchase of Open Access; articles not published with Open Access will become freely accessible to all users 5 years after publication)
Marine Ecology Progress Series
Fully Open Access journals (purchasing Open Access is mandatory; at the present time ESEP is free of charge)
Aquaculture Environment Interactions
NOTE: Ethics in Science and Environmental Politics is excluded from the agreement as for the journal no APC is charged.
